World Currency Symbols Reference

Every currency you add in FOX carries its own symbol, and you choose what that symbol is. The plugin does not force a standard glyph, which matters more often than it sounds.

When the standard symbol is the wrong choice

Three cases come up regularly.

The glyph is missing from your theme font. Currencies outside the common set — the Ukrainian hryvnia, the Indian rupee, the Turkish lira — render as an empty box in some fonts. A three-letter code reads better than a broken character.

The market uses a local abbreviation. Several countries write their currency with a local short form rather than the international sign, and customers there read that faster.

Two currencies share a symbol. The dollar sign covers a dozen currencies. On a shop selling into more than one of them, "$" alone is ambiguous and "US$" or "CA$" is not.

Setting the symbol

Each currency in the plugin settings has its own symbol field, its own decimals and its own symbol position — four positions are available. Nothing is shared between currencies, so a shop can print 1,299.00 USD and 1 299 € on the same page, each the way its market expects.
